 Side By Side September 7 - November 9, 2007 Geoff Morten - paintings Jenny Morten - sculpture 'Side by Side' is an exhibition of new works by Geoff Morten and Jenny Morten which focuses on the context of relationships which are inextricably linked together in both art and life. The two artists - Geoff, a painter and Jenny, a sculptor - are husband and wife, each choosing to work with different materials and pursuing separate objectives, whilst interpreting shared experiences and being mutually supportive. The theme of relationships is fully explored in their individual commitment to making the work, by the juxtaposition of images and objects, the push-pull of polarities, the use of negative and positive shapes, the physical layering of surfaces, and the revealing of metaphors creating a common language which is communicable to a wider audience.
