| An all-student art show, “Beyond ABC and 123” features
the work of Scotts Valley art students ranging from kindergarten
through high school level. The exhibition features art from students
who attend Brook Knoll and Vine Hill elementary schools, taught
by visual artists from the Cultural Council’s SPECTRA-excellence
in arts education program, as well as students from Scotts Valley
High School, Scotts Valley Middle School, and several home-school
programs. Over 50 art pieces will be on display. The works range
from drawings, ceramics, digital media, and photography, to mixed
media with metal and glass.
Artwork from students in the primary grades was chosen by art teachers
from the schools. Junior high and high school level artwork was
chosen by independent judges.
The public is invited to see the student work at Santa Cruz County
Bank, 4604 Scotts Valley Drive, Scotts Valley from June 1st through
July 31, during regular banking hours. Additionally, the public
is invited to meet the artists at a special Art Reception to be
held at the Bank’s Scotts Valley Office on June 15, 2005 from
5-7pm. |
